1. Worship
The first thing God spoke to us when we planted the Church in St. Charles
was, "Gather the people through worship". Worship is the center and one of
the most important things that we do. It is through our worship to God in
all its expressions that we meet Him and experience His Glory. When we
encounter His Glory we are changed into His likeness.
2. Sonship
Knowing who we are in Christ because of the finished work of the cross,
unlocks our true identity. Understanding God as our Father who absolutely
loves us, determines the way we relate to Him, to ourselves and the people
around us. This revelation alone will take us from doing things 'for' what
Jesus purchased for us on the cross, to doing things 'from' what He
purchased for us on the cross. Encountering the love of our Heavenly Father
frees us from the pains of our past and His empowering grace launches us
into our full inheritance as His kids.
3. Leadership
God has placed leaders and ministry gifts into His church to equip and
bring us to maturity. We greatly value our leaders and the continuous input
and oversight of apostolic and prophetic leaders and ministries that God
has joined us to. These leaders and ministries are devoted to equipping and
empowering the local church to thrive in the unique vision and mandate God
has given them and to see the whole church rise to the full measure and
statue of Christ.
4. Discipleship
We are committed to leaving a legacy for the generations to come. Leaving
an inheritance for our children's children isn't limited to mere material
things. What we leave 'in' our children is more important than what we
leave 'to' our children. We love pouring into the next generation and
seeing the seeds of destiny in their lives grow and take shape. The great
commission in Matthew 28:19 was a reinstatement of the original mandate God
gave in Genesis 1:28, "to fill the earth with a people who look just like
Him". What we leave in one generation will effect the next. "Society grows
when men plant trees they know they will never sit in the shade of."
5. Relationship
The church is a "people" Ecclesia, meaning called out ones. It is not a
building or and event, but a people who belong to God and display what He
is like by the way they live together. The Bible calls 'The Church' a
family of which God is the father, and a body of which Jesus is the Head.
It's in our fellowship together that we grow in our love for Him and one
another.
6. Stewardship
Jesus said, "If you are faithful with little then I will put you in charge
of much". So simple and yet the implications are exponential. What we do
with what He has given us really does matter to Him. This includes what we
do with our time, our talents, our finances, our relationships and of
course the people He has entrusted into our care. As a Church we have a big
vision, so in order to fulfill it the stewardship of what he's already
given to us is extremely important.
7. Partnership
We so value what God is doing in the earth today and want to do everything
we can to be a part of it. God's heart is for people, all people. When He
looks at the Church He sees a people, one people, one bride, one body of
which He is the head. If there is only one body then the local church is
just a part of it. He is coming back for a body that is "fitly joined
together". Finding the church's and ministries that He has joined us to
partner with, is something we value and love the strength and support that
it brings.
